Here at Bluebell Lakes, we believe the traditional method of turning up to enjoy fishing is the best method for a day ticket fishery.
It’s a real myth that you have to que up at our gates from the night before to secure a peg – this couldn’t be further from the truth!
When you arrive on site, all anglers must report to reception for a chat and pick up a bucket with a sticker with the date and time on. Then take a walk around the complex or lake you would like and leave your bucket in your peg whilst you go collect your belongings.
We do not allow driving around the complex with your bucket so you must be prepared to walk.
Our team regularly check buckets throughout the day to make sure pegs aren’t reserved for friends or long waits that prevents others getting on.
Once you have found a vacant peg that feels right for you, leave you bucket in your peg and head back to reception to tell us where you are and pay. You can them collect your car to park near your peg. If you have chosen a peg that does not have parking behind, you can drive to the nearest car park to unload, alternatively you can leave your car in our main car park and use a wheel barrow to get your things to your chosen peg.
Benefits of not booking in advance: You get to choose a peg that is right for you in that moment, looking to see where the fish at that very moment, considering current weather conditions and the recent activities around that peg. You haven’t paid for a peg in advance that you aren’t happy with when you get here. 90% of our visitors travel from outside 2hrs away, with everyone in the same situation. No favourites, no peg saving, no lake exclusives or matches that book our lakes out, no 1st slots saved for a 4am gate arrival. Just fair, simply carp fishing!
We have operated this way for 33yrs and will continue to operate in this way and hope our anglers continue to understand our reasons for upkeeping the traditional methods we pride ourselves on at the fishery.
We are open 12 hours a day in the Summer and 10 hours a day in the winter, therefore we ALWAYS recommend you call us in advance to your arrival. We remain honest if we feel the complex is at capacity and your chances of securing a peg are limited. We are open 7 days a week to answer your queries.
